O ator Alex Rocco morreu no sábado, 18/07/2015, aos 79 anos, conforme informou sua filha Jenniffer na sua página do Facebook
No Facebook Jennifer escreveu: “Estou em choque, por favor rezem por ele. Eu amo você papai agora você pode descansar em paz com a mamãe”
A causa da morte ainda não foi divulgada.
Ficou mais conhecido pelo papel de Moe Greene em ‘O Poderoso Chefão’ (1972). No filme, Rocco fazia um mafioso judeu que chefiava um cassino de Las Vegas e acabou sendo morto por Michael Corleone, com quem se negou a fazer negócio.
Rocco passou a trabalhar no cinama nos anos 1960 depois de ter aulas de interpretação com Leonard Nimoy. Entre os seus filmes, além dos de máfia, estão comédias como “Herbie Goes Bananas” (1980), “The Wonders – O Sonho Não Acabou” (1996) e “O casamento dos meus sonhos” (2001). Suas aparições mais recentes foram no longa “Sob Suspeita” (2006) e na série “Magic City”, de 2012.
Os trabalhos do ator foram ainda recorrentes na dublagem, tendo emprestado sua voz para o personagem Roger Meyers Jr., de ‘Os Simpsons’ .
Alex Rocco foi casado duas vezes, a primeira com Sandie Elaine Rocco, que morreu de câncer em 2002, e a segunda com a atriz Shannon Wilcox.
