O ator norte americano James Garner (Norman, 7 de abril de 1928 — Los Angeles, 19 de julho de 2014) faleceu aos 86 anos de causas naturais em sua casa, em Los Angeles, no dia 19/07/2014.
Garner estreou como ator em 1956, na série Warner Brothers Present e no filme Rumo ao Desconhecido, mas ficou mais conhecido em 1957 quando estrelou a série Mavericks, aos 29 anos. O programa teve 129 episódios em cinco temporadas.
Garner estrelou diversos filmes e outros seriados, incluindo o programa de época Nichols, Arquivo Confidencial (The Rockford Files), Bret Maverick, Diário de Uma Paixão , Cowboys do Espaço, entre muitos outros. O último trabalho de Garner foi ter dublado o herói da DC, Shazam, em dois curtas.
Garner deixa esposa, Lois Clarke, (casados desde 1956), e duas filhas, Gigi Garner, Kimberly Garner.
