Roger Rees, ator galês vencedor do prêmio teatral Tony e que atuou na série de TV “The West Wing”, morreu aos 71 anos nos Estados Unidos
Rees faleceu na sexta-feira ,10/07/2015, em sua casa de Nova York, onde morava com o marido, o dramaturgo Rick Elice.
Nascido em 1944, o ator começou a carreira no teatro e, em 1982, recebeu o Tony pelo papel de Nicholas Nickleby em uma adaptação do romance “The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby”, de Charles Dickens.
Rees ficou famoso com sua participação na série “The West Wing”, na qual interpretou o embaixador da Grã-Bretanha, assim como por interpretar um empresário britânico na série de comédia “Cheers”, nos anos 80.
Interpretou também o xerife de Rottingham, na comédia “Robin Hood: Men in Tights” (“A Louca! Louca História de Robin Hood”), de 1993, de Mel Brooks.
Mais recentemente participou em séries como “Elementary” e “The Good Wife”.
